Inspiring Australia’s state programs are offering some bonus Virtual Excursions training. There is a ‘Make up Session’ combining content from the Web Conferencing 101 essentials and Best Practice Engaging Audiences sessions. The Creating Partnerships and Networks session will allow to join networking project groups and participate in ongoing Communities of Practice. There will also be a chance to get feedback on your online delivery with Practice sessions.

Don’t worry if you missed out on any of the Virtual Excursions training modules. Recordings of all three sessions are available to registered participants. Creating Partnerships and Networks
The Creating Partnerships and Networks session will allow you the opportunity to register for project groups and Communities of Practice. These groups will form the basis of National Network allowing ongoing collaboration on STEM engagement projects from organisations across the country.
Monday 1 June 5 – 7pm
Online Delivery Practice Session
Online delivery practice sessions are available if you would like help with your online delivery techniques. Sessions will be in 10 minute blocks allowing for 5 minutes of content and 5 minute for feedback and discussion.

Web conferencing 101 essentials
Learn from Australia’s expert science engagement practitioners on getting your setup, technology and fail safe practice nailed in this 90 minute session. It will cover how to set up and deliver your event or program online, meeting security needs, what to avoid and how to create a professional, successful, engaging session for your audience.
Best practice in engaging audiences
Engaging your community with your STEAM event involves far more than watching a talking head. Learn how to make the most of your resources and talent and seek feedback to actively engage your audience and appropriately target online programs that community audiences will want to participate in. Evaluate your success and iterate!
The Virtual Excursions training package has been coordinated for national delivery by Inspiring Australia NSW. It was produced and delivered by Fizzics Education, Sydney Science Education and Refraction Media with support from the NSW Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer and state Inspiring Australia programs in NSW, ACT, QLD, WA and SA.
